Sandhurst – Wantirna

Texture, Form, and Light

This knockdown rebuild project in Wantirna presents a considered study in premium minimalism and functional innovation. The design for Sandhurst focuses on a material-led aesthetic, where every element serves a dual purpose of utility and quiet sophistication.

Upon arrival, the interior is defined by a sense of calm, anchored by the Espresso hybrid herringbone flooring that flows through the primary living spaces. A dramatic void above the family area invites an abundance of natural light, creating a measured rhythm between the ground floor and the upper levels. The staircase, featuring 42mm Tasmanian Oak treads and a square-profile handrail in a Dark English Tea stain, acts as a tactile focal point, leading to a spacious rumpus room and study nook.

The kitchen and butler’s pantry highlight a commitment to high-end joinery and texture. Caesarstone Dreamy Carrara benchtops with 40mm and 60mm mitred aprons provide a matte, stone finish that complements the 2-Pac cabinetry. In the master ensuite, the application of Forte Ceppo Cenere porcelain tiles from floor to ceiling creates a warm, textured environment, paired with a freestanding bath and Phoenix Vivid Slimline tapware in brushed nickel.

Throughout this Wantirna residence, the integration of satin brass hardware and timber-look ashen oak garage doors ensures a cohesive, professional finish. Sandhurst is a testament to architectural simplicity, delivering a home tailored for modern living.
